Sandy Hendel Clough, MOTR/L

Sandy Clough, MOTR/L, is a Board-Certified and Licensed Occupational Therapist with an extensive background in both inpatient and outpatient settings across New York, Virginia, and New Mexico. She has worked in the rehabilitation field since 2008. She graduated with her Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of New Mexico in 2016. She completed internships at the Johns Hopkins Burn ICU and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albuquerque. She has also worked as a hand therapist, a home health OT during the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a pediatric OT in private clinics.

Through these experiences, her work has become grounded in a deep commitment to people on the autism spectrum and those, young and old, who are living with the ups and downs of ADHD. She is passionate about helping to create spaces and develop solutions with neurodivergent individuals to help them feel understood, supported, and empowered.

In addition to her traditional OT training, Sandy is certified by the Qigong Sensory Training Institute to coach parents on how to provide this touch-based autism therapy. Qigong Sensory Treatment (QST), which is strongly supported by clinical research, helps with many of the difficult symptoms associated with autism and is a safe, non-invasive therapy for children under the age of 12. When given daily, this 15-minute treatment can help trained parents to reduce their child’s behavioral, sensory, social, or language difficulties.

When she isn’t passionately helping people live their best life, Sandy enjoys hiking with her significant other and her Bernese Mountain Dog, Buster.
