Lindsey Markwood

Lindsey Markwood is a Clinical Social Worker, licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. She attended Boston University as an undergraduate and completed her master’s degree in clinical social work at the National Catholic School of Social Service at Catholic University. She has also completed post-graduate training in object relations psychotherapy, for both individuals and couples, at the International Psychotherapy Institute in Chevy Chase, MD. She recently completed training in Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. She speaks Spanish conversationally.

Ms. Markwood has extensive experience working with individuals in recovery for alcohol and drug addiction as well as adolescents that may be struggling with substance abuse. She is passionate about providing a safe space for adolescents and young adults struggling with the pressures of competitive school and home environments, parental conflict, self-harming and overall adjustment to the post-pandemic world. For many years she has helped adolescents, adults, and couples address anxiety and depression due to past trauma and/or current life transitions or circumstances. Ms. Markwood works holistically with psychiatrists, schools and any other professionals in her clients lives to provide the best care possible. She is currently providing both in-person sessions as well as virtually by video conference.
