Lauren Watson, LPC
Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia and also licensed in North Carolina, dedicated to helping others. Her journey began with an undergraduate degree in psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans, followed by graduate training in Community and Agency Counseling at George Mason University. Over the years, Lauren has had the privilege of supporting individuals and families as they navigate various challenges related to mental health, social, and executive functioning challenges.
She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who may be facing social, emotional, educational, and behavioral concerns. Lauren's approach is grounded in evidence-based practices that focus on reducing anxiety, depression, and behaviors like acting out or substance use. In sessions, she considers and works with the environment, thoughts, feelings, and actions that can lead to unhealthy responses. Each session is uniquely tailored to the needs, abilities, and circumstances of the individual or their child. Lauren believes in fostering growth and positive change through collaboration, regularly working with other providers such as doctors and schools.
