Personal Statement

“All of us need help from time to time, and I love my work as a therapist providing individual and family therapy, as well as running social skills and parenting groups. I am experienced in working with adults and children, and my focus is on providing a safe and supportive environment to work through conflict. I utilize insight-oriented approaches including psychodynamic techniques, cognitive-behavior therapy, sand tray techniques, and play therapy. Additionally, my background in home-based crisis counseling and critical incident stress debriefing lends itself to working with those who are in crisis or have suffered trauma.

With children, my efforts focus on helping to build self-esteem, develop a sense of mastery, manage fears, learn coping skills, improve behavior, and enhance peer relationships. My work with adults and couples focuses on collaborating with clients to help identify underlying issues, develop goals, improve coping skills and enhance relationships. Please call or e-mail me if I can be of assistance. I believe that we all have the ability to grow and change through the process of therapy.  I value the opportunity to help you resolve issues and find ways to enhance and enrich your life.”
