Dr. Elkin is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Virginia. She has had extensive experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and families in both individual and group therapies. Dr. Elkin obtained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Goucher College and her Doctor of Psychology from The George Washington University. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, issues related to attention, developmental delays, parenting concerns, eating disorders, loss, and relationship difficulties. Although Dr. Elkin is flexible in her work, she practices in a psychodynamic framework which emphasizes the root causes of symptoms or unwanted behaviors, and their associated feelings and thoughts.
